CCA Council

The CCA council is a student body made up of the CCA Leaders from the 35 CCAs in Hwa Chong Institution High School Section. The council dates back to the early nineties and has an important role as a voice for the students. It is a platform for CCA Leaders to speak up for their CCAs and work with other CCA leaders to share ideas and solve common problems

A 5 man executive committee leads the CCA council. This committee is elected by the 35 CCA leaders to coordinate efforts or pass down key information within/between CCA groups.

The CCA council meet once a term to discuss key matters as well as to solicit and consolidate responses via CCA leaders. These feedbacks are presented to school leaders.

A key role of the CCA council is to assist the PE & CCA department in the allocation of Secondary 1 to their CCAs. The council will convene at the end of the CCA trials together with the Principal Consultants of PE/CCA and Student Development to discuss and give their opinions on how the allocation of the secondary one boys can be done. This allows the leaders to learn and experience the challenges and difficulties faced in allocating key resources such as human resource.
