Introduction to CCA in

Secondary School

Key Principals in Determining your CCA Allocation

 

  • Balance between INTEREST (Your choice) & ABILITY (school’s talent identification process)

  • Most CCAs are highly competitive in nature, hence will require past competitive experiences (Some exceptions)

  • Some CCA limited by numbers yet immensely popular

    • E.g. Table tennis, badminton, tennis, Clubs & Societies

Differences in CCA Requirements between Primary School and Secondary School

Primary Schools

  • Optional

  • Can change every year

  • Usually need to pay for the fees involved

Secondary Schools

​

  • Compulsory (MOE requirement)

  • Not “You choose, you will be in”

  • Should not change CCA unless medical reason or as a last resort

  • Only special groups might need to pay a token fee

  • Competitive in nature
