Choir

The Hwa Chong Institution High School Choir is a vocal ensemble of choristers deeply passionate about singing. The choir has improved in their vocal techniques and musicianship with the guidance of our conductors Mr Low Xu Hao and Mr Yong Chee Foon. The High School Choir’s repertoire ranges from various genres and languages. In 2019, the choir was part of the school’s 100th year anniversary musical, a key milestone to the school and the choir.

The choir continually strives for excellence and has attained top awards in prestigious choral competitions. The choir attained Gold awards in 2007 and 2011 and highest available Certificate of Distinction in 2013 and 2015 at the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation for Choirs. In 2019, the choir has participated in the Singapore International Choral Festival and attained the Gold award.

Aside from participating in competitions and performances, the choir is actively involved in community services. The choir has performed at MWS Bethany Nursing Home, as well as Christmas Carolling at the Gardens by the Bay.
