Cross Country

Cross Country is not just a CCA, it’s a lifestyle. Discipline and hard work are essential in order for one to excel in this CCA. Anyone with any level of experience can succeed in Cross Country, as long as hard work is put in. The training sessions are not just limited to running. The team has enjoyed many other activities, such as swimming, canoeing, trekking, orienteering and more. If one does what is expected of them, Cross Country is guaranteed to be a meaningful and fruitful CCA experience for 6 years.

The team has been very successful under the guidance of our coach, Mr Steven Quek. In 2018, the team swept all 4 championships in the Cross Country National Championships and in 2019, the team won the A Division boys and girls titles and finished runners up in the C and B Division boys. The team also contributed to the Track and Field team’s sweep of all 4 championships in 2019.

Our team trains 3 times a week. While we mainly focus on Cross Country running, we also race mid-distance to long-distance events during the track and field competitions. This ranges from the 800m to 3000m, and the exciting 2000m steeplechase event.

Cross Country Achievements in 2019:

National School Games Cross Country Championships C Divison - 1st Runners-Up
National School Games Cross Country Championships B Division - 1st Runners-Up
