St John Brigade Singapore

First Aid is an essential skill to possess, yet only some are equipped with the knowledge. YOU could be the difference between life and death. Want to learn how?

Join us at St John, where we develop confident, self-directed learners who are active contributors to our society. Our members train twice a week to acquire not only First Aid, but also invaluable Home Nursing competencies, which are unique to St John. We provide ample opportunities for our members to give back to our school and the community, when they apply the skills learnt during training as First Aiders in numerous internal events, such as the Secondary One Orientation and Combined Sports Meet, on top of major external events, including the Chingay Parade and Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay.

To join St John, you need not have any prior experience. All that’s required to succeed in our CCA is a burning passion to learn and develop as an individual and a squad, as our training program is designed for everyone to start off on the same foot.

On top of the hard skills one can obtain in St John, our training program also places a strong emphasis on character-building. Through recreational sports and Physical Training, as well as a series of exciting and meaningful team-building activities held during our two annual camps, our members develop resilience, build camaraderie, and form strong bonds within their squad. Under the patient guidance of our adult volunteers, experienced officers and teachers-in-charge, we hone our members’ leadership qualities before everyone is given the opportunity to take charge of the Corps when they are in Secondary 4.

Our CCA offers activities like no other. For instance, the Hospital Attachment Programme, which is exclusive to St John, is a platform for selected members to shadow nurses in their ward duties in hospitals. We send our cadets to attain certifications in Standard First Aid, Standard Home Nursing and CPR+AED, inspiring countless members to pursue careers in the healthcare sector. Going beyond our core skills, we also plan external courses, such as archery, kayaking and shooting, for our members, which aim to enhance their CCA experience and widen their horizons beyond the normal school curriculum.

If you are looking for a CCA which develops you holistically by instilling life skills such as leadership, discipline, and resilience, a CCA which imparts important life-saving skills, and a CCA which enables you to enjoy yourself in the company of lifelong friends, look no further. Join us to forge lasting memories as you work together and develop as a team with your batchmates.

St John is like a second home to us, and we hope that you’ll join our family soon!
