String Orchestra

The HCI String Orchestra, formed in the 1980s, is an ensemble of string instruments who play many different kinds of music, including classical pieces, movie soundtracks and other popular music. Consisting of students who love music, the orchestra strives to perform well at their many performances, including concerts organised by the orchestra, and performances for school events. As an orchestra, we highly value teamwork, and as such the orchestra is very well bonded.

We practice and rehearse twice every week and even attend external lessons to constantly keep up with the need to improve and achieve and move forward together as not an individual, but an orchestra. Embodying the spirit of teamwork, anyone who joins us will be part of this warm family which will work together to improve and overcome any hurdles we face. We have also had the honours to represent the school in the Singapore Youth Festival and achieving outstanding results as well as performing for the annual THIMUN (Model United Nations) concert.
